From Conference to Community: Trusted Holiday Childcare Offering Activities for All Children ICS HAF Active Norfolk

Strengthening Holiday Provision Across Norfolk

Reflecting on an Inspiring Conference Day with Active Norfolk

Yesterday, we were proud to attend and contribute to an impactful provider conference delivered in partnership with Active Norfolk. The day brought together a wide range of providers from across Norfolk to reflect on progress, celebrate success, and focus on how we continue to strengthen holiday provision for children and young people.

The conference showcased just how strong the collaboration is between Active Norfolk, ICS, and providers. Clear processes, open communication, and a shared commitment to quality ensure alignment at every stage — from planning through to delivery. This joined-up approach is what allows the programme to reach such scale while maintaining high standards.

Delivering High-Quality Holiday Provision at Scale

Through the HAF programme, thousands upon thousands of children access holiday provision across 100+ providers throughout Norfolk. We are incredibly proud to be part of this work and to support opportunities that are safe, inclusive, enriching, and meaningful for families.

Our Easter provision is set to deliver another strong programme, with planning already in place for Summer provision too. We are currently finalising venues and dates and will be sharing updates shortly.

Safeguarding: A Core Priority

Safeguarding remained a central focus throughout the day. Our Director, Matt Parkinson, was invited to speak to providers about safeguarding in practice — sharing real-life experiences, how incidents were managed, and the robust processes in place to support providers and protect children.

These honest conversations reinforced the importance of strong systems, clear reporting pathways, and effective partnership working — all essential to delivering safe and trusted provision. (See image below from the session.)
