A Fantastic Morning at Tilney St Lawrence

My experience this morning at Tilney St Lawrence was amazing. The visit began with an assembly where we spoke about the new after-school multi-sports club we’re running, along with the Easter holiday programmes taking place at Gaywood Primary School.

The assembly was brilliant. The children were full of questions, had great personalities and were incredibly respectful throughout. We watched a short video that gave an overview of everything that’s coming up — from multi-sports to football, dodgeball and even zorb football. The excitement in the room was clear to see, and it was great to watch the children react to everything that’s on offer.
After the assembly, we worked with two classes. First up were the Penguins, who took part in a PE lesson that was so much fun. There were some great individual challenges and the children put so much effort into every activity. Their listening was excellent, and the energy they brought made the session brilliant. It’s a lovely community school and the environment was fantastic to be involved in. The teachers were also incredibly friendly and welcoming.
After a quick — and very active — break time, we then worked with the Dolphins class. Once again, they were fantastic. We focused on a mixture of individual and team challenges, while also talking about effort — not just in PE, but in the classroom as well. The message was simple: if at the end of the day you can look at yourself in the mirror and say you tried as hard as you possibly could, then that’s everything you can do. You can’t do any more than that.
It was a great morning and a pleasure to be part of such a positive environment.
Thanks for reading. I’ve written other blogs about visits to different schools as well, so feel free to check those out.
